Communities. Conservation. Commitment.

Title

Association for Conservation and Tourism or ACT is a Non- non-governmental Organization initiated to promote ecotourism. We are a Siliguri-based NGO that has been developed to preserve and conserve the ethnic cultures, wildlife, traditions, and cuisines of the lesser-known villages in Eastern India. We are the subsidiary body of Home Tourism and have been working towards ecotourism since 2011.

We collaboratively work with various organizations and like-minded people allowing us to promote ecotourism while developing the local community. We along with our partners conduct various programs in the villages which include awareness programs, training camps, hosting festivals, exhibitions and workshops. These activities not only help to preserve the local culture and traditions but also act as a platform to engage tourists and international organizations.

ACT also works with other regional NGOs and environment conservation organizations towards the conservation of natural resources and promoting tourism in the eastern region. We also organize various treks and expeditions in the Himalayan region that range from 3-15 days of journey which allow people to get the best from nature. We work with multiple initiatives and projects that include research, data collection, compilation and publishing of tourism information that allow us to develop sustainable tourism. From improvements in the infrastructure of the village to conserving the natural habitat, ACT and its articles are working to promote ecotourism while conserving natural resources.
