Conserving Nature, Enriching Travel, Connecting Cultures.
The Association for Conservation & Tourism (ACT) was initiated in 1991 and officially registered as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) during the financial year 2001-2002 under the Societies Act of India. The registered office is located in Siliguri, under the Darjeeling District of West Bengal. ACT aims to uphold the inheritance of heritage in its natural, cultural, and historical forms through "responsible tourism." The time-tested model of tourism introduced by ACT has proven beneficial in many ways for the people of East and Northeast India, as well as for the residents of adjoining regions in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. In addition to affirming their natural, cultural, and historical legacy, the locals of these regions have benefited economically by practicing the philosophy of ACT.
Promoting responsible tourism.
